A Secret Deployment

At long last, I can finally take some images of all the Secret Weapon RAV 6 x 6's that I made for my Adepticon army!

It took the biggest Hangar 18 backdrop I could muster, but it worked nicely!

These three Secret Weapon RAV 6 x 6 vehicles have been heavily converted.  I turned the one on the right into an Immolator, while the center RAV served as my Exorcist.

A post as it was constructed:

The armor skirts were made of plasticard:

Here's another Spaced armor post:

That's what I love about these vehicles!  They are designed to be just about anything!  Leman Russ, Chimera, Immolator, Rhino, whatever you need.  There are 10 different weapons, and even two hull mounted options!!!

Here they are on the Secret Weapon site:

I used these in my Adepticon tournament army of 2014.  These vehicles helped my win a Best Painted Army award once again!!

The view from above...

Tiny Tim

Yes indeed!  Another Thrall for you.

He seems normal enough in these views...

Just hangin' out with his shooty thing, minding his own business...

And the BAM!  His big brother comes stomping into the picture all Kool-Aid Man style.

Then he seems more than a bit... tiny.

A plague of Locusts!

Here we have one of the "heaviest" Light Supports in the Wild West Exodus game.

This is the Locust, and it is part of the Union faction.  What really separates it from the other light supports, such as Interceptors, Energy Beasts and so on, is that it can survive being out in the open (very high armor), and even dish out some nastiness with a ram attack.

Normally, you are shootin' and scootin' with a typical light support.  Not so with the Locust, as it is just too slow for such tactics.

However, this can be a mobile piece of terrain, which can not only cover some advancing hired hands with its large profile, but also keep some heads down with a flurry of firepower!

I had to keep reminding myself as I was painting this that it was a floating Light Support vehicle!  There were many times where I felt like I was painting a Doomsday or Judgement. :-)

However, I am sure my opinion will change as I get into painting those!!

Two birds are better than one...

Back to Red Box Games!

This priestess/shamaness was very interesting.  Quite dainty, which meant I had to be very subtle with the use of the darks.

I made frequent use of mixing regular paints with the washes to create those semi transparent colors for the mid tones!

Pitter patter of hooves

Well, these certainly aren't reindeer!

A batch of Beastmen from Mierce Miniatures.

Each one is a very distinctive sculpt, as opposed to a collection of similar parts.

I think these could really fill out a command rank in a Beastman army quite nicely.

I also tried to get some variations in the skin tones on each beastman.  Not quite as much as the rhinos, but subtle things here and there.

I have some more shots of these on the larger backdrop with the boar rider, which are very fun!

So stay tuned!!!

Riverdance.. Bronze age style

Sorry about that... couldn't resist!

This guy is one of the first Reaper miniatures that we purchased long ago.  It was one that I had been planning to use for the Slaine campaign as one of the Gaels.

He was already about 80% finished, so I did the last little bits, and here he is!

Obviously lots of fun little tattoos and such.

He's also here, as it's that time for EBAY funds again:

A horse of a different color

As I have mentioned, having variations in the horse colors for this project is very difficult.

The primary constraint is that nearly every horse must be some shade of dark brown.

I have tried to achieve the separation by making some a bit more red, while others, such as this one, were darker with cooler shadow areas.  This meant mixing more blue with brown in those sections.

On other horses, I even added a tiny bit of yellow to the brown... once again in an effort to make things somewhat different.  Of course, there were also other markings, such as some 'socks', as I did here.

The white patch on the face is also a fun change here and there!

This puts that theory on display.  Reddish on the left, more yellow next, then white, then the darkest colored horse on the right, with a few markings.
