Big Bird has an eye on you.

The Osprey may have been the most complex of all the birds.  The markings had something to do with that, but also the shapes of the wings.  It could make it difficult to get things into camera view. :-)

Time for another color sketch!

These handy guides are fun... I get to paint in two dimensions again!

A helpful comparison to the actual face...

Shaded basecoat... I really beat up some craft brushes here.

Lots of scumbling the paint into crevices!

Then dry it off, and do some more shaded basecoat

And some more...

Finally!  Out come the glazes.

As usual, profound difference after those are applied.

And Fin.

Blood Rage

It was a surprise to me to realize this is actually the third time I have painted the Gluttony figure fro Raging Heroes.  This is the second fantasy version, and I have one 40k version almost complete.  I have another one of those under way as well, which was an experiment with weathering powders.

It gets more fun each time I paint it, as I see more details and test out new colors.

I have some more of these, and I think I might try to do some conversions on them.  Perhaps go more towards a Nurgly look by adding lots of pustules and such!

Once more, many thanks to those good folks from across the sea!  They have been very kind.

Here are the two fantasy versions side by side...
