The Swamp Rats

With the four new factions created in the recent Wild West Exodus kickstarter expansion came not just a huge batch of new miniatures... but new battlegrounds!

Taking their rebellion to the swamps and bayous, the Confederacy conducts a guerrilla campaign, striking from out of nowhere, only to return to their nearly invisible hideouts once the assault is complete.

While their technology might lack the advancement of their Union foes, they can make the most of it.  Here and older blackhoof, precursor to the iron horse and other bikes, is used as light support for those hit and run attacks.

I'm looking forward to painting more of the Confederate Rebellion, as I can contrast the burning glow of the RJ-1027 against even more muted camouflage colors!

I will also get a chance to do more swamp bases!

Subway in the Swamp

Getting around in the swamp is usually a real pain.  Maybe you have an air boat or something... but those are kinda fragile. And they don't hold ten gun toting hired hands!

That's where creating your own subway comes in really handy.  With this fine machine, you can drill your way right through those pesky Cyprus roots.

This ingenious vehicle is a creation of the very inspired Confederate  Rebellion from Wild West Exodus.

This heavy support vehicle is designed to burrow it's way under and BEHIND enemy lines.  Just what you would expect from an army that has heeded the words of Jefferson Davis, choosing to abandon the cities and take to the swamps.

In addition to the ability to drill safely beneath enemy lines and show up where they least expect, there are three different weapon options.

Soon, you will be seeing much more from the Confederate Rebellion, so stay tuned!!

War in the Bayou

Well, here's something that I've been looking forward to since Adepticon!!!  Yes, Wild West Exodus will soon be adding its four new factions!

For your viewing pleasure, I will be showing some of the actual line troop sprues.  Let's get that process started with the Scouts of the Confederate Rebellion.

As with all the existing sprues, each figure is a completely unique pose, arranged in sets of five long range and five close combat fighters.

Each piece is labeled, and they go together very easily.  Since these are genuine plastic, plastic glue will actually work!  That's why the WWX plastics are among my favorite, in addition to the solid construction.

These parts won't break as you try to get rid of mould lines :-)

The line troops are not all!  There will also be Bosses and light supports in the initial public release as well.  Here are some images for you:

And no posse is complete without Sidekicks and Underbosses!!

The Long Range Scouts ready for action!  Again, these are not renders, but real figures, assembled, primed, and so on.

The Close Combat Scouts are ready to sneak around the swamp!

I am really looking forward to painting these guys!  The bases will have to be forest or swamp theme.  In the WWX universe, the Confederacy heeded the pleas of their President to abandon the cities, and take the Revolution to the hills and the swamps...

The Confederate Rebellion will rely primarily on guerrilla, hit and run style tactics.  Stealth will be their main asset.

There are many exciting heavy supports coming for them as well.  And some very nasty critters!!  Check out the giant snake!!

War in the Bayou...

War comes to the deepest South in Wild West Exodus!  Here we have Stonewall Jackson and Marie Leveaux... and her little pet.

The Zombie Snake has some very interesting and unique rules, which should be very fun to test out in the coming months.

Having these beta test cards out at this point has made it easier for folks to choose what they may want to add on to their original pledges.  While a certain miniature might look very interesting, the rules or play style of something else might interest you more.

Speaking of play styles, the four new factions will have a very different style indeed!  I am even more anxious to try out the Golden Army, as hordes of ranch hands will be supporting elite Conquistadors.

This will be just like my beloved Demonhunter army from years ago!

As for the Confederate Rebellion, ambushing will be their stock and trade.

But wait... who is this?  The Watchers may be able to appear at will, using vortexes and portals, trying to beat the Confederates at their own hit and run game!!

Talk about a swirling tempest of combat... two armies appearing from nowhere, only to vanish just as quickly?  Wow.  It's going to be a mind bender.

These are some very fun members of the Confederate Rebellion, which is one of the 4 new factions being introduced by Wild West Exodus.

They really do make a great pair!!

Bands of RJ-1027 infuse the zombie snake with unnatural life and energy.

The Bayou will never be the same!!

I'm sure he's quite deadly.

Since everything about the Rebellion is hit and run, ambush, etc., I assume that he slithers around in the swamp and attacks out of nowhere!

I forget which stretch goal unlocks this cute couple, but I am certainly hoping to get there!!!
