The black and white scheme can be a big challenge, since the monochromatic nature means that the color temperatures of the grey can make big difference. I have painted one or two pieces strictly in greyish colors just to experiment with these temperature variations.
what colors did you use to get the brown looking effect on the weapons platform?
ReplyDeleteI think I started out with Khemri brown and worked up to deneb stone... then a little bit of reaper Ivory for highlights...

I started out with a basic middle tone grey, and lightened that with a fortress grey. I then used black glazes to darken all the shadow areas. I hope that is helpful!
