Are they gone forever?

For those who recall this base from a photo in a recent post, you can see what figure ended up standing on it soon after :-)

The tufts are from Kings Hobbies and Games, while the leaves are from Hangar 18.

These views really give you a sense of how fun that foliage was!!

My bark and branch bases became that much more interesting thanks to this particular "frosting on the cake". :-)

Dabbling in dapple gray again.

You've seen a lot of the Red Box Games infantry... but there's horsies too!

I couldn't resist painting this one up with the dapple grey color scheme.

I enjoy this breed of horse so much, I had to make it the topic of one of the kickstarter painting videos.  One of two horse breeds which I covered.

Just a fairey tale now?

I have enjoyed the Tale of War line of miniatures for a number of years, but I am starting to wonder if the entire line will be out of print.

When I look around at various on line sites to find them, they seem to be listed as out of print.  This could be just a coincidence, which would make me much happier!

There's a lot of character and whimsy to all of the figures, and this Cinderella set is no exception!

Just a few more of the Red Box barbarians.

I'll sprinkle a few of these in amongst the terrain posts...

The big group shots will be coming up soon!

A return to Base Camp

Here's some fun bases for you.  As usual, sculpey was the primary medium.

The foliage bits are from Hangar 18, while the tufts (Gamers Grass) are from Kings Hobbies and Games.

As you saw in the original post, there are a ton of different colors, and that meant that I could match any foliage from the Hangar 18 sets.

The Gamers Grass tufts also come in a variety of sizes on each sheet, so it was very easy to find just the right piece to fit in on each base!

Here's a few that shows a few other bases (bark and branch style!) that have the same Hangar 18/ Gamers Grass combination.

An old lady returns

She may not look very old, but this classic sculpt goes back quite a ways.  I think it was first cast in 2003.

This is the last of the Anastasia figures that I have.  It's been rendered many different ways, even in some diorama vignettes.

In this last go round, I decided to test out some fun foliage from Hangar 18!

Here's the Champ

This is a very interesting version of the Tharn cavalry, with a dramatic pose for both wolf and rider.

I'm still seeking the description of what make Privateer Press figures distinctive from other lines.

It doesn't matter which faction you're talking about... they always seem to have a unique appearance.

I know the armor is treated a little differently, but it might have something to do with the more 'heavy' sculpting.

There are not many 'dainty' sculpts in the Privateer Press line, which is probably the one aspect that comes to mind. :-)
