Certainly not a lax work schedule...

Here's another type of Mechanicum unit that you have not seen.  This is the first of nine that I painted.

The base is 40mm, so they are roughly terminator sized.

It's called a Thallax Cohort.  Stay tuned for more!

150 years ago... a very different time

A few years ago, Marty and I did the team tournament at Adepticon, using the Wretched Alliance of Appomattox as the theme.

His Iron Brigade 'Union' Dwarves had to ally themselves with my 'Confederate' Chaos Dwarfs.

I converted all sorts of miniatures for the army, including a scratch built vehicle.  These Bull Centaurs were chief among the conversions.  You can find a few articles on the construction here:

I have other articles on the Deathshrieker:

An article on the Dwarf unit:

I tried to match the way that Marty had sculpted and painted his Iron Brigade, which was a very unique project to say the least!

We had a TON of fun building the display board.

And yes, we dressed the part!!!

Double trouble

More Thralls...

Ten of this type, twenty overall.

I'm looking forward to taking pictures of these guys next to the huge transport!

Stay tuned!!

Ganging up

OK, the Three Amigoes all in one place!

I think these group shots really are the best indicator of how unusual these figures are.

The nature of the robes, shoulder mounted guns, and the giant halberds make for so many challenges.

You have no choice but to paint them completely assembled, and that creates all sorts of logistical issues.

There's also a lot of activity deep into the crevices, and they are not easy to get at without any of the weapons in the way!

Three more of these have been completed, so eventually you will see group shots of all six Myrmidons, and then the three Destructors to put the total at nine!  Yikes!

Back to the Thralls

OK!  Let's get started with the second unit of Thralls.

I don't remember what these weapons are called, but they are a little easier to deal with than the first squad.

Part of that has to do with the ease of getting the brush into various areas, since they only have the one arm engaged with the weapon.

Much more to come!  Stay tuned...

The green tide continues

You have seen the Great Blue Horde... but now a new threat emerges.  Green coats!

Yes, more of the Green Hornets.

A handful remain, but once more, you will see a group shot of all of them together.

I really don't want to have to be the infantry walking behind these guys.

I still wish I could have kept a bunch of these horses for making LOTR conversions. :-)

Stay tuned!!

From the Warp

One final group shot!

These encompass all of the Vestals and characters.

You can also see a variety of weapon options, such as the shard net...

And the Agonizer as well...

Leaping out from the Warp Gate

Asharah leads her coven...

When these girls show up, the lights go dark.

I do have another set of these figures, which I will probably paint up in a very different color scheme.  Those will make some very fun side by side comparison shots!

The final hours of the Raging Heroes kickstarter are counting down!  Not much time left!
