Tau Ceti bases

Here's a great set of bases from Secret Weapon, called Tau Ceti.

These are the 50mm versions.

And the 40mm.

While there's a lot of great textures, it's clear that just about any footprint will work with these!

As with all the Secret Weapon sets, there are multiples of five... five of the 40mm, and ten of the 30mm.  The first batch of 5 in this image...

And five more!

The entire set, available from Secret Weapon Miniatures.

Dropping a Bombshell!

OK folks... the Bombshell kickstarter is under way!!

Here's a link:

I believe that it's already fully funded just 12 hours in.  And why not... lots of fun miniatures in the mix!

By the way, the base is from Dragon Forge Designs, sculpted by Cathy!!!

There's even a new version of Kaelee the Mechanic!

Mine is also available here:

Three Amigos, Artizan style.

I believe this set of figures are Artizan Miniatures version of the Earp brothers.

Since they are a smaller scale then the usual Wild West Exodus figure, it will be very easy to distinguish them from the actual posse members.

I am still working up the rules for these deputies, and the kind of triggers needed to activate them in a given scenario.

I thought it would be appropriate to paint a few of them in white coats, just like the WWX counterparts.

Seems like Wyatt is leading the way.

Stay tuned for more from Artizian, as I was able to add a Pony Express rider, and some 'regular' 7th Cavalry miniatures!

Tufts for your BONES

These Reaper BONES figures are a nice example of how a slightly different base can make the same figure (even with similar colors), a bit different.

I used two different sets of Gamers Grass on these, just a slight variation in color.  The form on the left is a green/reddish brown combination.

This view shows how much that change in color effects the way you see the coat.  The green looks that much darker against the lighter, more reddish brown.

You can see that I even painted the rocks differently.  The base on the right it done with lighter colors, with the shadow parts of the surface having a touch of green included.

The more I examine these images, the more I notice how a choice in foliage can have such a dramatic impact on the figure.  I had to take these side by side images for you to see this as well.

Once again, another example of the dark base/dark foliage next to the light base/light foliage sample.

You can get the Gamers Grass at Kings Hobby and Games.

Holy Order in the Heavens

Here's a slightly different version of Sircan Nura, as I get her ready to lead the Holy Order in the next titanic struggle!

This time around, I went with darker set of robes which would allow me to do a little nebula effect.

I wanted it to contrast with the reddish nebula effects which were done on my Dark Council robes.  They represent "The Enemy" to the Holy Order of Man, an ancient threat that was in existence long before mankind.

The Relic weapons still glow blue, which was another reason I wanted the darker robes.  This way, I could more easily reflect the glow onto the robes than the earlier version with white robes.

I also wanted to see what she would look like on a different backdrop than the standard blue white fade.  The new photo booth really is a big help, since I can control the intensity of the lights so much easier!!!

Are they gone forever?

For those who recall this base from a photo in a recent post, you can see what figure ended up standing on it soon after :-)

The tufts are from Kings Hobbies and Games, while the leaves are from Hangar 18.

These views really give you a sense of how fun that foliage was!!

My bark and branch bases became that much more interesting thanks to this particular "frosting on the cake". :-)

Dabbling in dapple gray again.

You've seen a lot of the Red Box Games infantry... but there's horsies too!

I couldn't resist painting this one up with the dapple grey color scheme.

I enjoy this breed of horse so much, I had to make it the topic of one of the kickstarter painting videos.  One of two horse breeds which I covered.
