Bobbies!

As you have already seen several times, I want to use these Artizan Miniatures western figures as NPC deputies for our Wild West Exodus games.

When we do scenarios such as the huge brawl in the massive gaming hall, these additional figures will increase the mayhem even more!!

The Age of Iron

Here's some paint on the latest steampunk style bases.

These were made by pressing sculpey into Happy Seppuku moulds, and by adding some sprues and plastic gears.

Normally I make the conduits the same color as the metal plates, but I wanted to try something a little bit different this time.

This was a fun set, and there are many more to come.  Those will be incorporating the leftover pieces from Burn In Designs kits.

The plastic gears are a fun element, and they look really interesting with a miniature on the base.  It gives you eye something to compare the figure with in terms of scale.

These bases were designed for miniatures with larger footprints.  That seems to be the case with a lot of the Z-Brush engineered miniatures.

I might still go back into these with some weathering powders, but that will wait until the weather would allow me to dullcoate those!

From the Red Box...

Now that I have had a chance to shoot some photos of the Red Box Games marauders, I have been able to get some images ready for blog posts!

There are a few different poses in the group, including these archers.

Grant the Butcher?

Hideously scarred from the tragic fire which killed his family (the nefarious work of the Dark Council, most likely), General Grant takes the field once again.

Nothing will stop him in his quest for vengeance against the evil Dr. Carpathian.

One thing remains the same about Unconditional Surrender Grant, however... and that is the diusty private's coat which he still wears.

Charging into action in a Wild West town near you!!!

Marble and bark

We have a few larger bases for you today.  These are between 50 and 60 mm.

Each one features a little something that I have developed over the last year.

There's some bark and branch, some marble, and the broken column made of sculpey.

These two bases are for those Demigods figures that I have profiled recently.

The view from above lets you see a bit of the marble patterns.

I think those are my two favorite patterns!  Enjoy!!

Concept to mini to painting!

Here's a painted example of a Miniature 13 figure.  They have created some very nice sci-fi miniatures as part of their recent kickstarter.

I had a lot of fun making a base to match the conduits that were part of the actual miniature.

There were plenty of fun details!

This won't give you gas

Here are some fun images of the finished shipping container.

Each stage of this project was very fun... coming up with the logo, doing the weathering, researching the lettering, and so on.

I certainly learned a lot more about shipping containers than I ever thought I would!

I didn't intend originally to use printed signs on the container, but it was a very useful experiment.

I never would have thought of the various signs of the contents, such as the flammable signs!

The other containers are shapes that may not allow as much in the way of printouts, so that will be yet another experiment!

And, of course, they do open and close, which will be very fun for in game tactics.

Overall, I felt like I was able to get very close to those original reference images.

Here are some miniatures to give you a sense of the scale.

The Highland Moss guard seem to claim it as their own. :-)
