Interior views of the Royale Casino

Photobucket

Here's a project that still needs to be completed.  It is the most elaborate Blood Bowl stadium that I have tried to create.

The Royale Casino is the home stadium for the Las Vegas Hustlers, a human team I had in a league years ago.  The outside of the stadium has a marquis, and a fancy exterior full of columns and decorations.

Photobucket

Obviously, the inside is supposed to be a casino!  Hence all the green felt.  The white squares you see are for turn counters... which are playing cards.  When you turn one over, then indicates a turn has been used.
At the end of each half, whoever has the better "hand" gets an extra re-roll.

Photobucket

The re-roll counters are poker chips, which are color coded to indicate team re-rolls, bonus re-rolls, etc.

Photobucket

There are two grandstands for the stadium, one for each sideline.  I took one of them down so that I could photograph it.  The side you can't see has a giant scoreboard on it, as well as the visitor's dugout.  Each dugout will have a very different theme, with the home team's version being truly luxurious, while the visitor's is very nasty :-)

Photobucket

On this side of the grandstands, you can see the announcer's booth.  The upper levels are going to have little slot machines and poker tables, a roulette wheel, etc.  The lower levels of both sides can hold tons of eager and excited fans!

When I get the chance, I will try to take some exterior shots.

So, back to a few more of those DRagyri favorites.  Here is a shadow walker (all of these on 50mm bases).

I guess that is about to change, however, as I am told that stuff mounted on 80mm bases is on the way.

Post # 600!!!! Teaching an old dog new tricks...

Photobucket

Gee, I was really shocked to see my posts at number 599 right before I went to put this up!  I guess that means I am averaging about 100 posts per month.  Scary, I know!

What should not be scary is this neat little devil.  It is a very fun Werner Klocke sculpt for Reaper.

She is up on CMON right now, so I call on all loyal Wappellians to vote!!

I very rarely get to paint anything like this, so it was a treat.  I also took the opportunity to experiment with flow improver, which I had never tried before.  I used it on almost every surface, with different types of brushes, paints, even other mediums.  There is a whole lot of potential use for it... and not just for freehand.  Very cool!

That just goes to show you that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks!  Speaking of which, we have been substitute dog walkers for these two hounds, who we have known since before they had names.

Here is Max:

Max as usual waiting for someone to toss his ball:

And his sister Zoe:

Neither of these dogs had been trained to walk in the disciplined fashion that we walk dogs, so we knew that some teaching would be involved.  After just 2 days, they are now pretty well ensconced in the correct way to do things, and they very rarely step out of formation or yank on the leash.  Of course, border collies are among the smarter dogs, but other people could do the same thing (if only!)

Blood Bowl Shadowforge Gators

Photobucket

Shadowforge makes some fun blood bowl teams, and here is one of them.  It is an Australian company, but I believe that you can purchase theme here on Impact Miniatures site.

They make a fantastic female orc team, complete with coaching staff, as well as a hilarious nun team!

These ladies are painted in Florida Gators colors...

I don't seem to have any individual shots (sorry!), but here are some close ups of the group images...

Some of my favorite Trueborns: Part One

Photobucket

It's been a long time since I have seen these guys.  Every so often it is fun to check out figures that were done using techniques that are very different form the way I work today.

Here are a few big Dark Age Dragyri Trueborns.  They are on 50mm bases.
