Necrosphinx! Another monster for Armies on Parade

Photobucket

Well, time is just about up.  One more very very long day coming tomorrow!

Photobucket

At this point, I will be focusing more on tidying up various things like the display board, and some of the miniatures.

Photobucket

This guy was a major challenge, since I wanted to have all the variations in color.  It would have been a lot simpler to do a standard scheme as opposed to the rainbow effect of Tzeentch! :-)

Photobucket

I attempted to have at least some gold remain.  That goes with the whole tainted process, where it may not have taken full effect...

There were so many crazy little surfaces on this thing!  Every time I turned around, there was another area I had missed!

Photobucket

I was not able to do a "step by step" on this piece, but here are a few WIP images I took during the process of painting...

I put this big guy on the army board and shot a bunch of images.  I am off to process those now!  One last big post tomorrow...

As I write this, it is once again very late.  For anyone who is going to see this in person, I hope that all this work over the last 14 months shows!  It might be more difficult when it is all jammed together on the board, as opposed to these individual profiles.  It is my hope, however, that people take the time to really look at what's there!   Oh yeah, and read the fluff as well.

Don't mess with this tomb... Monstrous guards!

Photobucket

Since I was curious to see what the two big guys would look like on the display board, I just had to shoot a few quick images!

Some closer views of Timmy and Tommy...

Once I get the Necrosphinx painted, I will take some shots of the lower level and see what that looks like!

Monster Mash: The Hierotitan is completed!

Photobucket

Joining his buddy the Colossus from yesterday, I managed to get the Hierotitan painted as well!  Just two more monsters to go!

Photobucket

Here are a series of images to show as much detail as possible on this piece.  It was fun to tie in the freehand with the Colossus, and to get the scales glued on there at last!

Timmy and Tommy together at last!

I took a few images of these two guys on the display board just to see how they look.  I will post those on Thursday...

Are you my Mummy?

Photobucket

OK, bad Dr. Who reference out of the way.  A few more figures added to the Undead team...

Photobucket

Photobucket

And a view of the team thus far...

Scratch built Screaming skull catapult painted!

Photobucket

I posted the WIP images of this piece a few days ago... but now it is painted!  Now if I could only stop rolling misfires on two out of every three rolls...

Photobucket

I used balsa wood, sculpey, green stuff, plasticard, and tons of bits to make this item.

Photobucket

I did make a crew for this, but I won't have time to paint them, so I am using the standard crew for now.

Photobucket

The idea here was to make a catapult that was stronger than the standard GW miniature, and have it look more like it belonged on the ground level of the army board.

Colossal Paint job... another monster complete!

Photobucket

Sorry for that... it's been a very long day, and as they say... it ain't quite over yet.

Anyway, among other things, I managed to get the colossal painted!

Photobucket

I tried very hard to keep the colors consistent with the other constructs, such as the Stalkers, Necro Knights, Ushabti, Titan, and the Sphinxes.

Photobucket

You might also notice that the patterns on the 'cloth' are the same as the ones down in the Tomb level.  It was a lot easier to paint them on the miniature!

Photobucket

I will probably add some more tidbits after Games Day here and there.  A bit more freehand in some places.
Photobucket

Here is a "Colossal" view.  A "glory" shot :-)
Photobucket

The game was on while I was painting the big guy.  Baseball was also watching the game, and he seems very excited that Alexi has hit a 2 run bomb to extend the lead to 7 runs and put the Sox back into a 1st place tie..  However, Alexi appears to be less excited...
