Let's go this way...

The Greatswords are going to be fast and furious over the next week.  My favorite part of doing these guys are the metal surfaces.

The faces are pretty much all exactly the same, and the clothes can get pretty repetitive, but placing the shiny stuff at different angles means that I can reflect different colors here and there.

Nothing like reflecting some yellow shirts into swords!

Last up...

Yea!  Warrior four in the books.  Command staff next!

Still a few more sea shells to go.  You will see on the next set of images. :-)

Not many of these Demonettes left from Raging Heroes.  I had painted several of them for the Purple Fleshtones video.

Each one has been very fun to paint!

All right... I promised you something else besides pictures of snow.  I am guessing it is warmer in Slime Bay than it is here!

This was probably my favorite of the 4 warriors to paint, if not the most difficult.  The way the double head and the big hand worked was very fun :-)

Snow... and sun!

Hey everyone!  Sorry this is late... and that there are no miniatures.  I have spent the last 3 hours working with just one color... skull white.

We have been whacked with at least 6 inches of new snow... and it is still falling.

Welcome to the North American Himalayas.  This pile is now up to my chin.  And, by the way, it extends back towards the house about 10 feet.  There are three other slightly smaller piles forming a mountain range.

Just when I thought I was done, I plowed through the snow to throw out come garbage, climbing through 3 foot drifts.  Just then, I saw someone stuck in the snow.  It was an older guy who was just coming back from the hospital.  So, I took his little shovel, dug him out and pushed the vehicle in his parking spot.

Just then, a few other folks needed help shoveling their garages, like this lady, whose husband is in bad shape.  More shoveling for me.  I still don't understand the concept of piling garbage out in front of your house.  To me, it belongs in the alley, where you can't see it from your front window :-)

Anyway, here is a fun, rather blinding effect that happens around here when the lake effect snow gets cranked up.  Huge snowstorm and blinding sunshine all at the same time!  FUN!

All hail the Master

I was very happy to discover entire sets of images I didn't even know I had last week.  Since then, I have been making blog posts featuring these work in progress images.  Or, at the very least, pictures of the conversions before they were painted :-)

In this case, it was a Grand Master for my beloved Demonhunters army.  This guy won a Gold Rogue Demon at Adepticon prior to the Crystal Brush era.

I wish it was still around, since that was a contest that involved miniatures from actual tournament armies that were entered frenetically between tournaments!  Many thanks to Dave, Chris and others who spent many hours judging those.

And now for the painted result.  It was a challenge to paint, but immensely satisfying when it was complete.

Very sad to see this guy go, but one day I will find the pieces to make it again... or even scratch sculpt it myself.

Playing in the snow...

Here's a mini that's been around for a while.  It was almost a candidate for the Standard Non Metallics video.  With all the snow I have been shoveling, I decided to include one of the bases from the Sculpting snow bases video!  We have about 8 more inches of that stuff coming our way...

It was a fun miniature, as all Reaper figs tend to be :-)

I tried something a little different on the hair this time.  Since there are so many ponytails, I thought it might be fun to work in as many color variations as possible.  There are greens, yellows, some purple, and so on.

Purple and yellow can make some interesting grayed down colors.  Some of that same purple ended up on the metal surfaces as well.  It was very fun!
