Countess

Here's one of the new releases from Wild West Exodus, this time for the Enlightened.

She's Countess Augusta Byron, and she has the ability to rejuvenate the dead somewhat.

Not a surprise, as this Franniestien countenance illustrates.  This Boss also has some powerful weaponry, and you certainly don't want to get close to her!

She will join Tesla and the rest of the growing Enlightened force that continues to infringe on the town of Wappelville... stay tuned.

Carpathian Industries subsidiary in Wappelville?

Naturally, Carpathian's evil minions are drawn to the supplies of RJ-1027, in addition to all the other "raw materials" that are to be found in the cemetery and the Undertaker's.

Some of the terrain in this image is from Burn in Designs, as most of you already know.  I also made some of it myself, such as the charging stations and the power generator.

The view from above makes it appear that Creation 7 has some loading to do of those wagons!

Speaking of the Undertaker's we are back to the Final Slumber funeral parlor...

One of the Yi Sisters clearly had some business inside.

As neat as it is to see the pictures of the finished miniatures, it's even more fun to view them in this context.  I love seeing them in terrain!

These are the same kind of scenes that play out in our games of Wild West Exodus, as you have seen in the battle reports.

At a certain point I will have my own Enlightened posse.  This will center around Eiffel and other constructs, as well as the Monocav.

The next Burn in Designs building that is getting its final details is the train station, as well as the Battle Train.  Those two kits together should make quite a scene!

Carpathian's Creations...

Look what young Edison has brought with him!!!  It's the massive Creation 7, as well as the Yi Sisters.  This view shows you how huge that 4 armed monster is.

The Yi Sisters are very stealthy, able to approach silently right up to an unsuspecting target.

Edison's Sonic Weapon can deal out damage, or move objects and people around.  You saw that play out in the most recent battle reports.

Dealing with all these threats on the table at once will be no easy task.  Holy Order might have the most difficult time, since there are not many of them.

The Spirit Aim could help against Edison, but the Yi Sisters are designed to get right up to you.  Let's say that they're mighty handy with those Katanas!

I have one more set of these figures which were taken in a nice setup with some Burn In Designs terrain.  Stay tuned!

Carpathian's Creation

The evil, twisted mind of Carpathian knows no bounds... his 'Creations' grow ever more hideous.

This blasphemous piece of work is called Creation 7, from Wild West Exodus.

He is a monstrous opponent, capable of getting additional action points, making him even more deadly.

Should he double those action points, his Swiss Army Knife bag of weapons will likely do a tremendous amount of damage!!!

Crank up the music

The young inventor Thomas Edison is getting ready to rev up his version of an MP3 player, Wild West Exodus style!

I've had some personal experience with this sonic weapon of his, and it has not gone well for people on the wrong end of it!  It can do some crazy things to you.

When he's out on the table, he's a prime target for things like my robot doggies.

Carpathian's Revenge: Fallen Heroes

The fiercest battle yet to be fought rose to a bloody crescendo, as one brave hero after another was brought down.

Archimedes was the first to meet his end.  Mortally wounded in his fight against the Wraith, one of the Kaufmann brothers finished him off with a weapon that only the evil mind of Carpathian could conceive.

Vladd had exited the speeding Mercenary buggy in an effort to climb the water tower.  That vantage point proved to be very ineffective, so he decided to leap onto the roof of the train station.  Little did he know that Rebecca Copelie was waiting for him inside...

Hearing his footfalls on the roof, she alerted the Rangers who were patrolling the graveyard.

Archimedes avenged!!!  The first of the Kauffman brothers goes down from the withering fire of several Rangers.  These new members of the Wappelville Law Enforcement Agency were proving their worth by the moment.

Curses!!!  The sole living member of the cemetery contingent had managed to raise one of the corpses from it's 'final' resting place!  This spelled disaster for the Lawmen, as getting him off the board would ensure a minor victory for the so called Enlightened.

Thomas Tate Tobin took careful aim at the dirt and maggot covered thing, but was not able to bring it down completely!  Some strange influence seemed to place the massive Creation 13 directly in the path of the shots.

This left but one chance to save the day.  Carl Fredrickson, the Hero of Wappelville, activated his portal weapon.  He disappeared from the inside of the church, hoping to intercept this lone abomination.

However, instead of standing directly in its path, he ended up behind it, well within reach of the enormous mechanized zombie.

The struggle was no less intense on the other side of town.  Hercules II and the Rangers fought running battles in the streets, pulling down one shambling atrocity after another.

This proved to be a mere distraction, however, so that young Edison could pull Wyatt from his strong position in the Funeral Parlor using some kind of sonic weapon.

With brutal precision, the inventor dragged Wyatt out into the street, and on top of a mine!  The resulting blast knocked him down, allowing Carpathian to drop one template after another onto the hapless Lawman boss.

And then Wyatt, brave warrior that he was, became still and lifeless, a broken shield at his side.

This only proved to enrage the rest of the Lawmen, whose greater numbers were beginning to tell.  In fact, most of the Enlightened forces that had been brought into the town had been destroyed.

Missy Copelie instructed brave Hercules II to complete his elimination of the zombified corpses, so that he might be set upon Carpathian himself.  The cowardly genius was ensconced in a rock formation, and she could not draw a bead on him, even from her high post on the watchtower.

If Carl Fredrickson could just get one more activation before the lone zombie moved...

Much to his dismay, the beast dragged itself from the edge of the Cemetary.  Would all be lost now?

As shocking as the Cemetary raid was to the citizens of the town, the sight of Carl brought prone before the blasphemous Creation 13 was too horrible to watch...

While Missy could not reach Carpathian, she did work in concert with the Gyrocopter to take down the Ironhide, and an attempt to kill young Edison.  The death of Wyatt had to be avenged.

More vengeance was dealt upon the rest of the remaining Enlightened.  A Ranger took steady aim with his pistols and filled the lone Kaufmann brother with RJ-infused lead.

Both Interceptors closed on the Creation 13, and one more of Carpathian's terrible inventions was shattered.

Carpathian actually rose from his hiding place, and appeared to make some kind of signal.  Soon after, the last remains of his strike force moved off into the darkness.

What the shocked defenders could not see was the return signal that was sent to Carpathian from inside the Undertaker's... given by an impeccably dressed man in all his finery.

The man looked at his own portrait on the wall, and the campaign posters which by now had been emblazoned on every building in town.

"There is much to do", he said quietly to himself.  "Much to do".

The fact that so many of the foul Enlightened were destroyed, but one corpse still escaped, confounded the creator of Wappelville.

The Archmagus of Evil seemed quite pleased with his result, however.

What he does not know is that the Free Peoples and their erstwhile allies from the Sunset Lands stand ready to continue this epic struggle to the last man!!!

Carpathian's Revenge: Fangs of Steel

The invasion of the body snatchers continues!

When we last looked in on the intrepid Lawmen of Wappelville, they were anticipating the arrival of the heaviest Enlightened units.

The dust clouds betrayed the approach of the Ironhide and the Mercenary Buggy.

Apparently one of the replacement Interceptors had something wrong with its targeting mechanism...

Dad-gum Union war profiteers!

A move to outflank the Lawmen defending the Undertaker's establishment was met by a host of close combat Rangers, bolstered by two additional riflemen riding the rail cart.

A nasty surprise awaited the undead creatures in the Smokehouse...

The Ironhide made a predictable approach to the target.  What the Lawmen could not know, however is what might leap out of it!

Thomas Tate Tobin claims his first victim!  One of the shambling abominations was cut down right away.

One of the ruined beasts that staggered out of the Ironhide wielded a massive shotgun, pouring lead into the Funeral Parlor.

A particularly brave Ranger engaged the sinister creation in hand to hand combat, so that it could cause no further harm.

The Enlightened were able to utilize the Mercenary Buggy to outflank the defenders near the water tower.  Would this spell doom for those defending the church graveyard?

Wyatt had assumed that the main thrust would head for Billy's corpse, so there were fewer heavy Lawmen units in that section of the fight.  What rode inside that speeding vehicle might tip the balance...

You can see that the aforementioned Enlightened advance was building, and they stood at the cusp of activating the graves around the church!  Fortunately, two Interceptors were now in position, and a group of Rangers had spread out from the church.

These Rangers were taking positions around the great stumps of trees, and the headstones closest to the church.

At the same time, the assault on the Funeral Parlor became even more furious.  Some of the mines placed in front of the building had been taken out, and young Edison continued to jump out of the Ironhide, irradiating one Lawman after another!

Despite the loss of more and more of the blasted creations, Carpathian was able to keep up this furious action with even more terrible minions.

It was at this point that Hercules II leaped out from the Smokehouse and savaged a number of these fiendish beasts.  One by one succumbed to the steel fangs of the K-9.

This allowed the Rangers to close in from behind the Smokehouse, threatening Carpathian himself!

Each time a reanimated monster was taken down, another took its place.  The Lawmen were increasingly hard pressed.  Each time one of them moved to engage the creatures, Carpathian would blast them from his hiding place.

Obviously he is not accustomed to a straight up fight!

Both sides were now mere inches from each other.  The Rangers could easily smell the wretched things as they moved into the graveyard.

However, only the living could bring the dead from the graves, and the Lawmen carefully focused their attention on them.  The Kauffman brothers and the Wraith suffered wound after wound...

A torrent of fire from in and around the church savaged the invaders.  This also helped to cover the advance of yet another K-9.  You can see him crouching behind the tree stand on the right.

The Wraith had influcted a great deal of harm on the implacable Rangers, and nearly destroyed the K-9 as well.  However, the Steel Fangs would bring down the evil minion of Carpathian once and for all!!

The soil above the graves was stained red as Archimedes tore through the flesh of his victim.  Even nearby headstones became unreadable as the blood and gore obscured dates and names alike.

Would those dearly departed lying beneath that soil eventually become more foul creations of Carpathian?  Find out in the next chapter of Carpathian's Revenge!!
