These were pretty useful miniatures from the Gamezone line. They came with multiple heads that let you use that all important vomit option! So much for that pretty armor...
Plus, they came toting some interesting items to the battle!
The bases were sculpted from Apoxy sculpt to get them positioned just right.
I just finished this guy for my Adepticon Grey Knight army. It is a blend of an old Confrontation mini I had been saving, a Warmaster High Elf eagle, and a lot of Empire Flagellent bits.
These Thousand Sons miniatures were painted several years ago, but one thing remains the same when I paint them today. The basis of my blue color comes from Reaper Amethyst. It is a wonderful dark, rich blue color that can be turned into another type of color depending on what you use to lighten it.
For instance, it can assume a bit of a purple tint, even when lightening with Space Wolves Grey. It mixes wonderfully with various seafoam and light turquoise colors. It does not need much added to it in the way of shading if you want a very dark shade. It is already there.
These bases were among the first of my marble/temple style. I think this is what gave me the idea to do it for the rest of my armies, which you have seen illustrated many times. Looking back at these, I really like the white and yellow colors. The white makes the blue of the armor that much darker. More recently, I have done a dark blue marble with the demon faces. Perhaps I should try going back to the lighter bases for that future Thousand Sons army. There is a new book coming out, after all!
This was an old Grey Knight terminator painted as a Thousand Sons terminator.
