The pimp and the preacher

Holly rollers Batman!  He's here to save the souls of the living, since most everybody seems to be dead.

It's the Preacher Man!  He's a man of the cloth, but still mighty handy with that shootin' iron!

The Preacher will offer a few good words from the good book, and some hot lead to the face of those zombies...

He's especially good at the laying on of hands.  More than one character has felt the healing hands of the Preacher...

Just be careful when he opens up that Bible of his.  When he wants to read from Revelations... look out!

He is also determined to change Disco Stu and his decadent ways.  Normally, Stu would avoid the Preacher like the Fuzz.  Cuts down on his 'groove'.

But the Preacher Man is determined to save Stu's soul from the evils of polyester.

Nothing like hordes of brain eating zombies to create this congregation.

Stu thinks the Preacher Man is after his Benjamins.  How will this all turn out?  Heaven only knows.

Howling mad?

This is a very fun figure from Reaper.  It was many years since I painted the last one, so I thought it would be a neat experiment to try it again.  I used several different Secret Weapon washes on it.

The Sapphire, Blue and Green washes were very helpful.  They were both subtle and intense in color at the same time.  As usual they were even better when mixed with regular paint colors to work the midtones.

The Sapphire was really fantastic when I mixed it with seafoam green for many effects.

The blue was great for a little bit of reddish tint, a nice compliment to the greener Sapphire, etc.

OK, one more Dark Elf living dangerously.  Once more, a Raging Heroes favorite :-)

Hammer time!

Time for the lads in yellow to put some more beat down on unsuspecting opponents.

The combi weapons were interesting to paint... slightly different from the 'standard' combies I have painted with the 40k versions.

DragonForge bases, of course.

Fun Reaper classic

Here's more of an 'old school' Reaper figure.  It must be a Julie Guthrie sculpt.

Since so many of the original figures I painted 11-13 years ago were Reaper figures sculpted by her, there is a tinge of nostalgia that comes to mind :-)

Walkin' on fire...

Time for more Raging Heroes Blood Vestals!  The previous sets were on marble, so this time it's back to lava.  Lots of fun with the Vallejo Fluorescent paints. :-)

There is a lot of variety in the Blood Vestal sets.  They are all one piece casts, though, which is very cool!  Super easy to make some dynamic units with them.
