Blood Mistresses -- Dark Age Games

After testing out some Lord of the Rings Armies today, I am switching gears a bit to post a few images of some Dark Age minis.  There are lots of new figures that are coming, so in the coming months you will be seeing more of them!

These ladeis are from the Skarrd faction, called Blood Mistresses.  If you click on the image, you will get a larger view (yes, photobucket is still messed up ) :-(

Here they are:

And a group shot:

Cold Pewter on Ice: A new Impact Miniatures game

Here are a few images of some great miniatures that are part of an upcoming miniature based hockey game from Impact Miniatures!  I am sure you can get more details from their website.  My job is painting. :-)

There are four figures in all, shown here in raw form:

The goalie is really old school!

I am painting the masters for them, and here are some work in progress images.  First, I cut down the sprues so that I could create an ice sheet base for them.

Then it was time to attach all the sticks.  A few pins and some liquid green stuff, and they were ready to go!

Now they are positioned on their bases:

They are now primed, and ready for painting!!!

Stay tuned!

PS-- my apologies for this different format to the images.  Photobucket has still not solved the problems, so I am stuck with this for now.  My apologies!

The other Redeemer...

At long last, here are the pictures of the second Grey Knights Redeemer.

Vehicles like these do provide a nice canvas for freehand, so I thought I would take advantage of that once again. :-)

Some of the Forgeworld conversion bits were not the easiest to work with, but in the end they did look very neat.

My favorite part was the cowlings on the inferno cannons, however.  Painting in that horizon line was a lot of fun!  I had wanted to do that for years, but the surface was never quite right...

These top views show you how different this freehand was from the first Redeemer.  The triptychs were a little tricky to squeeze in , but I am glad I did so!

Group shots of the converted Vostroyand command squad

Photobucket

Well, photobucket is still doing strange things, so let's see if this works.  I promised group shots of the command squad, so here they are!  For those not familiar with the individual images, you can scroll back a few posts in the Imperial Guard section, and you will get the WIP images and so on.

Here's a top view to give you a better look at how the bases work together...

Work In Progress: Tomb Kings Warsphinx

Photobucket

As I begin work on the Tomb King that is riding this big guy, I realized that I had never posted any images of it!

Photobucket

This piece is about 70% finished.  Lots of work yet to do!

Photobucket

I had to change the color of the "flesh" from dark green to the same purple/blue that was used on all the other constructs.  The original intent was to have the same sort of skulls and demon faces show up on the sides of the Sphinx as the floor.  However, once I established the other color scheme, it just seemed to work a lot better!

Photobucket

Some of you might recognize the skull face on the back of the howdah from the lower level of the tomb...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Also, the floor of the howdah has the same design which you can see on the ground level of the tomb complex (the dais), and on the bases of the big chariot unit.

Here's one more view from the top:

I will post pictures of the King as soon as he is done. :-)

The mini that just wouldn't die... Imperial Fists Master of the Forge

Photobucket

This is one of those figures that you think is almost done, until it is several hours later... or even a few days!

Photobucket

There were at least 3 times where I thought I had this guy just about done, only to discover that there was a lot more work to do. :-)  At long last, however, he is complete!

Converted Vostroyan Master of the Fleet

Photobucket

Here's the final member of the converted Vostroyan command squad!  This time it is the Master of the Fleet.

The nature of the metal figure limited what I could do, so I did a little alteration using a tank radar antenna.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The biggest addition was on the base.  I used some extra pieces cut from the interior of the Storm Raven.

Photobucket

Here you can see him on the base... sadly, most of the screen are obscured :-)  Stay tuned for the group shots tomorrow!
