Girl Power! Reprised Death Cult Assassin conversions

OK!

It is time for another one of those VERY brief interludes between Tomb King posts for Armies on Parade!

I have posted images of these before, but since then I have added certain details to the cloaks, bases, knives, armor, etc.

The big gathering of Girl Power!

It has become time to raise funds in rapid fashion, so right now I have the big batch up on ebay:

I would be sad to see the ladies go, but the new army for 40k is Dark Eldar, and that will be my only 40k focus until Adepticon 2013!!  I guess that means I have to learn how 6th edition works...

Here's a few "official" Games Workshop Death Cult assassins:

The first Bowshabti

Photobucket

Here's one of the Bowshabti that will be positioned along the alcoves near the pillars on each side of the army board.  There's room for four of these guys, so one down, three to go!

This particular figure has a bit more gold on it.  I am attempting to put gold on figures every so often, just to show that the "taint" is not 100% complete, and some of the former "Golden Glory" still exists in some way.

Working through the boneyard... more skeletones!

Photobucket

We are back, and somewhat ready for action...

Among many other things, I am working through the skeleton archer unit.  The plan is to have a row of ten of these on each side of the tomb interior, each one with a character attached.

Skeleton archers, a few test figures

Photobucket

Well, sorry for the odd looking pictures here, but we are still "on the road".  So, here are a few skeleton archers...

Painting the Hierotitan: early stages

Photobucket

Today we hit the road to drop off some items left over from Adepticon at Marty & Kimberly's place.  It did offer me a chance to show them the army, but also have a bigger work space to do the painting of the titan!

Photobucket

I knew that I wanted this to look like my Ushabti, which you have seen me warming up on the last few days! I also wanted to have a lot of the Stalker color scheme reflected in this piece as well.  It started out by establishing where the green colors would be, as well as the golds and browns.

Photobucket

Then I started putting in some of the metal colors, and continuing to work the greens.

Photobucket

At this point, it was time to work on some of the "flesh" tones, which were done in much the same way as the stalkers.  I began with a very dark purple, then a nauseating blue type color, and then some grayed down ultramarine blue.

Photobucket

Here is the Titan on the army board to see how it is looking against everything else.  I was very happy to see how its brighter colors set the walls further back, as they are so muted in comparison!  A little "false perspective".  Ha!

Guinevere decided to make an unusual daytime appearance...

Now I am working rapidly in all areas, such as the flesh tones, the weapon, and the armor.

More shots on the army board!

Now I work more and more of the fluorescent paints, just like the ones I used on the recent Ushabti:

Here is where I had to stop for the day.  I will switch to some of the small items, like Tomb decorations, shields, etc.  now that it is very dark...

More Ushabti!

Photobucket

You can never have too many of these guys... mostly because they get wiped out pretty easily.  Just don't tell them that! :-)

The first Ushabti!

Photobucket

I wanted to finish off some of the great weapon Ushabti before we leave the studio environment tomorrow!  Here is the first one:
Photobucket

I have been looking forward to painting these for many months, since they are some of my Favorite Tomb King miniatures.  I modeled the Hierotitan after these guys. :-)

I chose a different "glowy" color for the eyes, which I was thinking of doing on all the constructs, but it may just be on the Ushabti.  With so much of the bright green on the weaponry, I thought the magenta would be a nice contrast!
