More fun with Marneus.

Remember when I said I had sliced and diced that very solid and very pewter Marneus Calgar figure for 3 different conversions?  Here is the second one!

I do like the way it turned out though.  Lots of bits, lots of pinning, lots of green stuff (which is almost entirely hidden.  I don't have the WIP images of this (probably because I was also trying to smash my face into a wall at the same time!)

I think the next one does have WIP images of the converting process.

A close up of the base...

  1. I would have used TMP for this model.

  2. I never liked the Marneus model,
    but I like this conversion!

The light-'ping' on the front of the sword
almost hurts to look at. Very nicely done!

  3. Hum. Very vibrant colors - love it! Might one inquire about your NMM gold recipe for this miniature?

    1. Thanks! I don't really use specific recipes... Basically I start out with some sort of tan color, and lighten it to an off white. Then I do a series of glazes to make it darker, but also to tint it various shades/colors. So, in some areas I will try to tint it more green, others more purple, etc.

I also like to mix in some seafoam green colors, especially where the ground or a cooler color might be reflected on the gold.

      I hope that is helpful!
