Aw Rats...

Sorry this is late, folks.  Dead computers, Lots of craziness.  Had to fin d a machine that would let me install Photoshop 7.0, etc.

These guys have been waiting for a while for paint, and now they have it!

This is the first from a unit of 5 Ratlings.  They really do have a lot of character for little guys.

It was a little difficult to prep these guys, since they were one big hunk of metal.  In way I am glad that they are, since it makes the little buggers very strong!!!!

Hand into fist

One more time!  I think you can see the weathering a little better on this guy.  It had to be done, since there were so many casting issues!

Even with lots of resculpting, there was just too much to attempt a 'pristine' painting job on these terminators.

That priest is a beast

I have not painted many Beastmen at all over the years, with the exception of some Blood Bowl minis.  Heck, I have painted many more Gnolls than beastmen. :-)

So, this was a fun piece to try.

I wanted to juxtapose a little hint of muted reds against some greyed down, blueish greens.  That is a little more evident in the back views.

The comparison

Since I have repeatedly mentioned the previous batch of Imperial Fists terminators of the Pre Heresy variety, I thought I would post a few images that never made it to the blog.

Compared to the latest batch, these minis drove me kinda nuts...

Lots of casting issues, but also not the most 'fun' shapes to paint.  The Cataphracti versions had lots of really neat surfaces to work with.  I definitely liked the gear on the back much more.

However, the swords on these guys were nice!

Time for Chaos

With another episode of Sleepy Hollow on the way, I guess it is time for some Chaos.  A symbol eerily similar to a certain Warhammer army, and a glowy axe... :-)

Fun times!

And a big pile of skulls!

Last one for now

Here's the last Custodes.  Like the rest of the squad, it was quite a crucible for painting mass amounts of gold armor!  Especially with the SE-NMM effect in place.

I used a lot of muted purples, as well as very greyed down greens.  Hormagaunt purple worked quite well.  The greens were created by mixing in some green glaze color in with a snakebite leather type color.

From the Underdark again

Once more, we have something sinister.  Evil lurks!  Watch your head!

This is a Reaper figure that I have had around for quite a long time.  I had started it many moons ago, and just finished it off earlier today.

The base was something I originally made for the Lizardman army, but I altered the basing a little bit on the additional Temple Guard, which freed up a number of bases!
