Consider yourself conscripted

Some of you may remember the concept behind the combined I.G. Sisters army, and that it was going to have mass amounts of conscripts.  The idea was to have 'locals' recruited as these conscripts.

While the female warriors generally go on to become Sisters of Battle, or officers, the lads end up as conscripts like these.

I took some plastic historical Celts and added a few pieces of gear.  Some of it was I.G. bits, and some backpacks were from Victoria Miniatures.

These are some partially complete conversions, minus some green stuff straps and purity seals.

I still have to determine exactly what kinds of base they will go on.  Since they occupy the underhive, I think it will be quite dirty. :-)

I am looking forward to doing some color tests on these.  Obviously, there will be some stripes and some plaid going on!

I believe that there are 40 of these guys in the army list, so that's why the plastic Celts seemed to be the way to go.  I seem to remember boxes of 20 for $40, or an even better price per mini ratio.

I did one set of 10, and these are the first five of the bunch.  Again, the basing will likely change.

For those not familiar with it, here are some images of the Sisters of the Raven, and their color scheme.  The Celtic look carries through all aspects of the two allied armies.

Cathy's Malifaux Bases

Here's a brand new set of bases that Cathy made for her new Malifaux crew!

She did some really neat work with the sculpey, getting lots of fun little details.  In fact, I kept noticing new ones each time I took an image from a different angle.

The sewer grate is very cool, and the wood platform even has a little knot hole!

Cathy was the first one to carve barrels from a piece of sculpey.  This technique was included in one of the videos!

Cathy loves to make green stuff cobblestones!  I have always had a tough time with that.

Here is the whole set.  I loved how the hand is coming out of the water!  Her first try at using the Secret Weapon Miniatures body parts.

Dominating the conversation

Well, when I posted the first images of this the other day, I did not expect to create such a gigantic firestorm of angst and rage.  No matter how many times I tried to explain that this was just a fun piece made for an Inquisitor RPG, that was ignored and the flames grew higher.

The whole idea behind this was for it to be outlandish, powered as it was by Xenos tech from a corrupt Inquisitor.  It was that technology that made this 'fly'.  The engines that you see are mere directional thrusters.

Here's a close up of the unit insignia, which was a lot of fun!  I love creating new logos :-)

I will still try to finish this off, especially now with all the Secret Weapon products that I now have!

Aside from the wings, the majority of the work went to creating the crew cabin.  That had to be enlarged to that it could also work as a transport for the retinue.

Any named vehicle needs nose art, so here we go!

And then there were four

I had forgotten that all five of the Response Team members were different poses.  I did n't realize that until I worked on the unprocessed photos.

I am pretty sure that Armorcast made the bases as well.  I think they still bring these to Adepticon each year...

Not a Secret any Longer!

Hey, another super box from Secret Weapon Miniatures just arrived!!!

Inside was some splendid new items... Plinths of all shapes and sizes!

Here are a the designs, broken down into a few categories.  This is the Town Square series.  The edges are all very clean, and the composition of the 'cut' plinths are quite nice!

And then we have these!  I already have a few things that will find their way on top of these plinths.  As with everything else, nice clean edges.  No more screwing around with wooden plaques for me!

The Egg Plinth is something I have not seen before.  Perhaps something Eldar should go on that.  The square plinths will be for Stikki Wikkit and Baby Babo, I think :-)

I look forward to using these.  I will experiment with a magnet sheet and some metal to see if that will stay flush... otherwise I will drill out a hole for a RE magnet.

Some general shapes that will do nicely.  I see some Dark Eldar Jetbikes residing on these!

I did this to illustrate how even everything is, with no imperfections.  Plenty of sizes to work with!

Yes indeed.  Whatever size or shape you might need, you will find.

Another shot with the super fancy plinths and the block format.  So, I will proceed with some bases for the tops of these massive plinths!

Actually, I was very glad to see lots of blank plinths.  You know how I love basing... so it will be a blast building up a base to go on top.  I have never gotten a chance to try that out!  This will be very cool.

A huge Response...

Well, this might be somewhat anti-climatic after yesterday's WIP images of the Angel of Dominance.  I was a tad but surprised to see that it garnered nearly 6000 page views in 22 hours!

Anyway, back to the Response Team.

She's such an Angel (WIP images)

Some of you might remember from a while back that I posted a bunch of images of a very unusual item.  It was a pretty insane kit bashing of a vehicle for our Inquisitor Role Playing group.

John and Larry donated lots of resin and plastic pieces for this insanity.

This is how the vehicle looked when we played our last game with it... I never got to finish the painting.  Just get it looking adequate enough to play with :-)

This is the vehicle our retinue traveled in, and also fought.  It could fly and hover, courtesy of some Xenos tech hidden within the hull.

Inside the hull were some other 'modifications', such as the distillery and the wine cellar.  Shells and missiles were just as likely to be filled with such fine aperitifs as they were with high explosives.

In fact, some frequently counted as both, depending on what ingredients were available.

The open area aft of the main gun was used as a driving rage by Colonel 'Zeke', as he was called.  More on his story in a later post.

Of course, no Inquisition vehicle worth its salt is without a massive, mutant-exterminating titan missile launcher!!!

I have more close ups of this coming soon!  This particular vehicle is now part of the I.G. wing of the new army alliance I am building with the Sisters of the Raven.  The icon also appears on the new Secret Weapon vehicles I have painted.
