These 'tiny' bases are 40mm.
I am also working on 25mm versions as well. :-)
Then we get a bit bigger... even larger than all the 60mm bases you have seen!
And then really huge!
I really enjoy the layering on the bigger bases. Some nice subtle ways to have variation in the height of the bases!
And a size comparison with one of the 60mm bases...
holy crap that large oval must be gigantic! Looks to be about 3 of those 60mm bases across. Lord of War time! As usual love the mottled lighting on the cobblestones!

DeleteDid you paint them all at once? (I know you just posted guides and step by step on the bigger ones, but was wondering if you were working at these at the same time). Everything is just so lovely and consistent!
DeleteActually they were all from separate work sessions... some of them weeks apart. In fact, many of them were not even painted with the same original paint colors. That's because the Shaded basecoat technique does not rely on specific colors.
DeleteWhen I did my Lizardman army, I had to match figures that had been painted years apart. But, it could be done, since the shaded basecoat part is just laying down very simple colors. All the rest is tinting and shading, which means I can match anything much easier :-)
And I thought you couldn't impress me anymore with your technique. Really excited to begin learning about it!
