Keep Out!!

Yes, once again, a case of having too much FUN with basing!

As I mentioned the other day, I decided to paint up this base that was made during the sci-fi bases video.  There was a tiny slice of time open for it, and it seemed like it would gove folks a better sense of what they could do with it.

I also did some work with a few Secret Weapon weathering powders.  On these kinds of bases, you can get a little extra zing.  It made the concrete slab all the more convincing.

Another experiment is under way with the powders on a base.  Pics of that in the next few days... stay tuned!

  1. The picture says it all :-). The weathering looks great. I do all my weathering with paint, but maybe I should try this powder! Cool stuff!!

    1. Thanks! That is normally the case for me as well, but every so often it occurs to me to try out the powders :-)

  2. The base alone would win a Golden Demon! : )

It is very, very nice. It has a lot of Pizzaz.
For some reason, the mundaneness of the object really adds to its charisma as a base or scenery piece(I can't think of any better word than charisma).

This may sound silly but your work on this piece is superb. It really looks like what it represents but it also draws the eye into looking at all of it in detail.I guess what I mean is that most of your other bases are made to look beautiful and draw the eye in. This one does so as well even though it is an "ordinary" object.

    1. Many thanks for the kind words! I think it is all about that sign, which helps draw people in, as you mentioned. That is why I had to paint that and put it in the video!
