Walkin' on fire...

Time for more Raging Heroes Blood Vestals!  The previous sets were on marble, so this time it's back to lava.  Lots of fun with the Vallejo Fluorescent paints. :-)

There is a lot of variety in the Blood Vestal sets.  They are all one piece casts, though, which is very cool!  Super easy to make some dynamic units with them.

Something to dig your claws in

More yellow guys.  Again, I was surprised at the difference in the casting quality on these versus the last set of terminators from Forgeworld.  I don't think these were a nasty experiment in finecast like the round shoulder pad termies.

I also prefer this venting mechanism on the back.

I was happy that there were no miscasts on the shoulder pads!  I had to entirely resculpt the last batch.

Wait a minute... he has a buddy!

Ha!  You didn't know that Mr. C'Tan had an evil twin, did you...

I could not resist trying the effect again, but with a whole new set of colors.

It always amazes me just how different the same type of effect can look when you change up those colors!

Another Custodes

Back to the Custodes!  These guys posed lots of painting challenges.  There were some sculpting aspects as well.  To make these weapons work, I had to add long, streamer-like purity seals.

Ultimately, they gave the weapons more shape, and also provided more 'interest', since I could tack on some freehand.  In addition, there were now a few more surfaces on which I could reflect some of the glow from the end of the weapon.

New armor, same color

Since Forgeworld keeps making new styles of armor, there must be more Imperial Fists!

Yes, another set of yellow guys!  I will say that Forgeworld did a much better job on this set than they did on the last one with the rounded shoulder pads.

Get ready for more!!

The old Necron days...

When I was contemplating a Necron army back in the day, this was one guy I definitely wanted to paint!

It presented the perfect opportunity to combine some shiny NMM with spacescapes... what could be more fun!

Shiny spacescapes.  Those Necrons are gonna be a lot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Custodes

Here are some 'missing' photos from a Custodes project.  This was a very intense exercise in Gold Se- NMM, that's for sure!

I used lots of purples and greens, let's put it that way :-)
