More Horsies!

Yet another set of converted Reaper Unicorns!  The metal ones were actually a little easier to turn into 'regular' horses.  They made a nice dramatic pose for the video. :-)

As usual, starting things off with the shaded basecoat...

But then it's time to glaze and tint...

This one had lots of nice 'action' in the darker color range, which is really fun... even when you are doing a two dimensional painting.

Working on the markings and the highlights, and then voila!  Finished Dapple Grey horse.

If a tree falls in the forest...

Here are some views of the glazing video being filmed.

Since the focus had to be on glazing alone, I just put the most basic layers of light paint on the tree warrior (from Raging Heroes).

I dried that off, and set up the next stage!

Getting started on the markings.  I was very glad that I took the extra time to convert those Reaper Unicorns.  It would have been more difficult to do everything I wanted with saddles and straps in the way.

Each progression made such a difference!

Now they can romp and play together.

I really enjoy painting this particular breed of horse!

The clattering of skeletal hooves

This was another fun video to shoot.  I used a Reaper skeleton cavalry figure.

It is a nice change from all the Tomb Kings horses, which were much less accurate with the anatomy.

Of course, glazing and tinting was a big part of it!  So, out came the Secret Weapon washes.

That's where things got interesting!

We end up with a pair of riders...

Giddy-up!

What you find in Lustria...

This is a display base that I made years ago for showing a variety of my Lizardman army units at Adepticon and Games Day.

It was made from cork and baked sculpey.  The designs were carved in after baking, and then painted.

If yuo check out the photos of the army board (Temple of Blood), you will see that this motif is repeated over and over again.

These designs are also repeated on many of the bases of the miniatures, and the movement trays as well.

This really is a very nice way to create a truly unique theme for your army, and have fun at the same time!

I think my Salamander units were displayed on this a few times.  I also have an even bigger version that was created for my Cold One riders.

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

As you can imagine, this post has a few images from the filming of the Painting Fur video.

That was also very fun!

I used some additional props this time :-)

I have done this with a number of the videos.  A 'visual aid' that showed how to paint fur at a size which would be much easier to see.  I could refer to it several times during the rest of the video.
