A healthy glow

Elementary, dear Watson.  No... that's elementals.  Here are a few shots of the Painting with Fluorescent paint video.  I used a Reaper spirit and fire demon as examples.

Recognize some of those lava colors?

Always trying to be sure to 'set the scene' with the colors that I will be using in that segment.

On to the ghost, and a different set of colors!

Feeling chilly? :-)

The Last Days of Pompeii

Do you know what this is?  Yes, it represents the last of the basing videos that I had to film a while back :-)

It was probably the most fun as well

There was not a lot of construction here... just painting!

I plan on doing entire armies on this kind of base... so look out!

I tried very herd to get in both bases, and I was able to figure something out...

There you go!

Out for a ride together...

Hey, now he's got a buddy!

With the colors established on the first bike, working on this one was certainly a bit easier.

I didn't have to test out any colors, just go right to the correct paints and get down to it!

I will post the individual pics of the second bike about this time tomorrow...

Zoom Zoom!!!

Here there be Demons

More from the week that would not end :-)  This time, it was painting the demon marble base, which was a lot of fun.

It is a tad bit easier to paint one base than hundreds of these for an entire army (I should know, since I have been doing that for the last few years!), but it is very satisfying.

Had some fun using the Secret Weapon washes on this one and the mosaic tile video!

Watch your step!!

Next to the sample base...

Some like it hot...

Watch your step... it gets pretty toasty if you fall!

Yes, more from the Basing Bonanza.

At least I didn't have to clean up shards of sculpey and gravel over and over! :-)

That base looks hot...

Same for the Vestals.

But wait... more bases for giant spiders!

My handy notepad of doom, with scribbles that let me know how long each segment is, so that I can glance at it while filming subsequent parts.  This lets me have a general idea of how long I might have for each one, since the planned shots are already written down.

Glowy!

One MEEEEEELLLIIIIION views and counting!

So it has actually happened!  Earlier this afternoon the blog crossed the 1,000,000 view mark!!!!

Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to check out these pages of madness.  It is hard to think that something which began in February of 2012 could grow to this extent so quickly!!!

With over 1400 posts, and nearly 540 loyal Wappellians backing it up, the blog continues to charge ahead.

So many things have been posted to the blog... my Lizardman army:

Tomb Kings:

My Dark Eldar:

Lots of Chaos!

And these guys...

Lots of tutorials demonstrating my obsession with basing...

Tons of Lord of the Rings:

Terrain, and even Battle Reports!

I guess what I am trying to say is, STAY TUNED loyal denizens of the Wappleverse!!!

Swamp Thing

More action from the week that was in basing.  The week that felt like a thousand years. :-)

This time around, it was making swamp bases.  As with just about every other basing video, new techniques were developed practically on camera.  The original concept was one or two types of swamp theme bases, but that expanded rather quickly.

Instead of just the apoxy sculpt/green stuff versions, I added a sculpey and even a cork version as well.

That meant a lot more work, more set up and take down between all those shots.

I included a fun segment on using plastic aquarium plants :-)

Some of you might recognize that vegetation from my beloved Lizardman army, which is getting lots of new stuff!!!  Yea!

I did a brief demo on painting to illustrate the use of the Realistic Water from Secret Weapon...

And here we have the entire collection!

It still amazes me how much more difficult these were to film, but I am pretty sure you will get a lot out of them!
