Last one for now

Here's the last Custodes.  Like the rest of the squad, it was quite a crucible for painting mass amounts of gold armor!  Especially with the SE-NMM effect in place.

I used a lot of muted purples, as well as very greyed down greens.  Hormagaunt purple worked quite well.  The greens were created by mixing in some green glaze color in with a snakebite leather type color.

From the Underdark again

Once more, we have something sinister.  Evil lurks!  Watch your head!

This is a Reaper figure that I have had around for quite a long time.  I had started it many moons ago, and just finished it off earlier today.

The base was something I originally made for the Lizardman army, but I altered the basing a little bit on the additional Temple Guard, which freed up a number of bases!

A binder full of Vestals

OK!  The promised group shots are here.

These kind of shots are always fun for me, since I get to see everything as a whole, but when you have lava bases... so much more fun!

The fluorescent paints just glow so intensely!!

Yes, they can even rank up.

I have a series of images showing renders from the Raging Heroes Kickstarter.

Oh my, these will be AMAZING to paint!!!!

These make me even more relieved that I was able to get into the 40k Champs at Adepticon!

Too cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next, I will show the boxes of troops!

Hot stuff

One more from Raging Heroes.  Actually, I am working on some more of these :-)  Trying to make a banner and musician version of the lava gals!

I do have some group shots on the way, however!

Strength in numbers

Here are some squad shots for you!

The individual shots are nice to see as I work through a unit, but these group images are the most satisfying, for obvious reasons.

They don't show all the details as the individual shots, but it creates the context of the unit so much better!

Also, you get a much better sense of how much hard work you put into it! :-)

I am going to take some more 'action' shots of these guys with the Dark Eldar, I think!

The view from above, which shows you how nicely those DragonForge bases work with these guys.

So, one more batch down!

Please don't squeeze the Shaman

Yeah, I have used that line a million times!  Sorry.  Heck, there are probably way more people who don't get that reference than those who do.  Ouch.

Here's another figure using the dark flesh tone techniques that I used for the video.

This time around, I did some white designs for more fun!

You cannot avoid the plague

One more big Ultraforge demon for you!  From the ranks of Nurgle this time.

All of the usual color transitions that I have been using for Nurgle, shifting greens from warm to cool, moving from high saturation back to low.  The lower saturation tones were designed to be located around the brighter pinks of the pustules and such to increase the contrast.

I say it in the painting videos quite often that contrast is not just light vs dark colors.  High chroma colors vs low chroma is just as effective.

Anyway, this guy is up on ebay right now:
