Well, Adepticon is nearly here, and that means last minute stuff such as creating army boards!
A little after midnight Saturday morning, I took my piece of masonite, some foam core, some cardboard, and some model railroad textured plastic sheeting, and set to work! My goal was to have this structure completed by 3-4 am, which I did...
I was trying to build Appomattox court house, which is the setting for our team tournament "Wretched Alliance of Appomattox" theme. Civil war dwarfs... with the North as regular Dwarves, and my Southern Chaos Dwarfs.
On Saturday afternoon, we got some more photos of the real courthouse, and tried to plot out where to place the building and our units o maximum effect:
We marked out everything and started putting gravel on the board...
Here is the board with the gravel complete:
While that dried, we finished the construction of the courthouse:
Here is my team partner putting some stucco texture on the house with flex paste:
Then he started painting the board while I painted the courthouse. The various stages of the board:
Here are some pictures of the painting of the courthouse:
This is the last stage I could get to before it became too dark to continue at about 9:30 pm Saturday. Not bad for less than 20 hours, including the 2 hours of packing and driving (and trying to get 3 hours of sleep!)
More tomorrow!
A collection of images that feature my painted miniatures. It features many of my award winning figures and terrain pieces painted since 2001.
