OK, working on Finecast is a lot like wearing sandpaper underpants. There are numerous foibles to that product, but the latest is the resistance to not just primer, but even liquid green stuff. You can't use simple green, so all you can do is wash it off and hope for the best.
Anyway, here she is!

I really really like this model. It's so colourful but in a wonderfully subdued way. Can I ask how you managed to achieve that effect on her armour?
ReplyDeleteOn a related note, whoever thought armour that doesn't cover the crotch would be a good idea!? Vampires are an odd bunch...
Hmm... there wre a number of steps used to create that effect, so I will try to summarise.
ReplyDeleteI began with a mix of tausept ochre and calthan brown. I used a bit of sunbrust yellow and then some very bright flesh color to lighten it. I glazed and tinted it darker with some sepia wash mixed with leviathan purple glaze. Once it had been darkened, I used some khemri brown to create some reflected light which would be a cooler temp than the highlights. I also used a bit of turquoise and vomit brown to give that verdegris effect. I thought that would reflect some of the srrounding cloak colors as well.
I hope this is helpful!
They have regeneration, don't they? A bit like a salamander's tail?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Couldn't have wanted a better answer! Definitely going to try out something like this in the future...
