Spitting Venom... some Work in progress images

Here's a little something different for you.  Tonight we have some Dark Eldar Venoms that I have been working on for a while.  I haven't even had a chance to make the bases for them yet, but at least in this form, I could play some test games with Rich.

As you can see, the undercarriage weapons were magnetized.  Also, the Venom in the center is for the Archon and her Incubi squad.

I have lots more grisly trophies to add!!!  Lots of other fun details as well.

Finally, the bases will have some duels going on between some hapless Space Marines, as they try to defend their Hippodrome, which this particular group of Dark Eldar are after!

Here are some views of the Archon Venom.  Like the Reaver jetbikes, I have added some plasticard wings.

I used some of the grisly trophy bits to make the gunner into an Incubi.  I can't remember where the head came from.  It was an extra bit to something.

The slave girl on the back is from another miniature company, whose name also escapes me.  I have a bunch of these, and I will be putting them on the other Venoms and the Raider.

Pizza anyone?  Fluffy loves pizza!  So do Dave an Abima...

  1. Nice pizza!

    Those are some awesome venoms.

If you are interested in more varied female prisoners, check out hassle free miniatures. They have a long list of female models which are the proper scale when compared to space marines.

    1. Yes, love the Hasslefree figs! I have dozens of Kev White sculpts here, between Hasslefree, Celtos and Void! Loved 'em back then, ans still love 'em today :-)

  2. I did something similar with the base for my Razor wing and a space marine casualty and a scared female prisoner. Love that kind of thing. It adds a nice touch of narrative to the army.

    1. Very cool! Since there were not as many opportunities to convert or scratch sculpt as I am used to doing, I thought the bases offered the best chance for something narrative, as you said. Plus, these marines will offer a cohesive accent color, and a nice tie-in to the army board!

  3. The female prisioner reminds me of Bronze Age Miniatures, the Death Earth 32DEIC-s-5 pack has one that looks pretty much like that one.

On a side note, get some acrylic rod and replace those bubbly ones, please. After so many years, I wonder why manufacturers keep on producing such poor flying bases. Your great painting... and then that big bubbles... ugh.

    1. That's the company! I kept getting them confused with Brigade Miniatures. I think I got 2-3 packs of them :-)
