Shooting a crazy promo for the kickstarter...

Hey guys!  Tonight was pretty interesting in Wappelville.

Rich came over, bringing with him a CD with a few clips of his original music, and some handy knowledge about shooting and lighting videos.  Cathy was the director, and also handled makeup!

I wrote up a little script, and came up with a plan for a short 2 minute sketch to use as an intro for the Kickstarter.

We just wanted to have some fun, and play around with making web compatible videos.  I had been focusing so much on the 'big' stuff, I realized that I had no idea what the size limitations were and file extensions, etc.  In fact, I am about to find out if it will work here!

If you are seeing it, well...

I had to drop down the image quality to make this work, so I hope it's not too grainy!

  2. "Cathy....handled makeup!" Oh I bet you just loved that. Bit grainy like you said, but funny.

    1. Given that it was a playoff Sunday, I wanted to wear eye-black, but was voted down. :-(

  3. It looks good even at this lower quality Jim. It gets grainy only if you enlarge the image, but still ok.

    1. That's good to hear! I would really like to post some battle report videos here, and I was a little worried that they would be so tiny and grainy from the size restrictions that no one could see them!

    Well done, Señor Wappel.

    1. He he, thanks! That was a late night generated script, a bid of mad inspiration as I was exercising... that happens a lot!

  5. I'm not sure if this was just me, however there was a time lapse between you moving your mouth and the sound coming out. Not sure if you can fix it or if it was just the problem with the video being put on here. Apart from that it was a very funny and enthusiastic way to start the kickstarter/

    1. Thanks! I guess I wanted people to know what kind of crazy ride they are in for. :-) The hobby seminars we teach are a lot like that!

That definitely did not happen on our end...I bet it is something with the video on here.

The higher rez option was not available here on the blog. The one on the kickstarter was, as they let you have a whopping 1000meg for your file! On a slower machine (we tested this out), there can be a lag with the sound.

    2. Ah i see, i did listen to it on my tablet and my laptop, it was my tablet that was having the problems. As for the res, I didn't really mind. can I ask, will the DVD's be available to be shipped to Scotland/UK. I haven't made any contributions mainly because I didn't know what the shipping arrangements were. Thanks

    3. Hello! Yes, Cathy's Kindle also had that same issue.

Yes, I will definitely ship them to Scotland/UK. I do that with miniatures all the time. I have also confirmed with CoolMini that you will be able to get downloadable versions for your tablet, if you prefer that.

We wanted to offer that option, in case someone didn't want to have to carry 30 DVD cases with them :-)

      Best wishes, and thanks!
      Jim

    1. Yes, that box won't melt your face off, since it never does so in a game of WFB! Gives me sad face every time...sad Tomb Kings...
