Armies on Parade: Gathering the forces together

Photobucket

Well, I had to supply GW with some images of the army as it is now.  I wish I could have done this at the Bunker, since it has way more natural light than I can muster here.  Plus, the cameras we have are really supposed to be for taking super close ups of small things.

Here is a collection of those images.

I tried to fool around a bit with capturing the Ushabti guards:

Still more work to do!  I may have to leave out the last 3 chariots, since the Necro Knights just get covered up way too much.  That is a bummer, since I wanted to have that whole chariot unit and its bases to provide that design which is repeated throughout the tomb.  We'll see...

    1. Thanks! Any and all votes are appreciated! While a lot of the fanc ier stuff has been completed recently, I have been working at this project for almost 16 months!

It's been a challenge to create an army to play and as well as an army that tells this kind of story on the display board...

  2. Fantastic work on this project so far, it is by far the best Armies on Parade that I have ever seen! I do have a question though - is the front portion in between the desert top and the tomb finished yet? It looks like you've put some decorations on it, but I am curious as to whether it is supposed to be the front of the tomb or a cross-section of the dirt leading to the tomb roof? It just looks a little disjointed at the moment, in my very humble opinion =)

Arguably the best project ever, keep up the amazing work!!

    1. Thanks! :-)

I had to make the upper section mu less deep than I originally planned, since this whole thing has to fit under the "sneeze guards" that they use at Games Day.

It is just a cross section. We decided that any decorations on there have to be kept to a minimum, just to give the eyes a place to rest. If there is time, there are a few little tidbits I might do in that area..

Thanks for taking the time to check out the blog!!
