That that makes five... wyche coven!

Guess what?  Time for another Raging Heroes gal!  She completes that first squad (group photos tomorrow), with one more batch of five coming.

It was lots of fun to be able to put some freehand on these with the tattoos.

You might be seeing my Raging Heroes figures in a painting magazine in the near future.  I will keep you appraised of those developments.

I am looking forward to the next test session with the Dark Eldar.  We will be using the diagonal deployment zones, with either the fast attack or heavy support as scoring units.  Rich will be using his Imperial Guard, which could be really bad for me.

If we get night fighting on turn 1, that would be fantastic, but I have not been able to roll higher than a '1' for that, of course. :-)  My suspicion is that all the IG shooting will blow me away very early, making things very tough.

In our last test, that role was reversed, as my shooting had a longer range than the Demon army Rich was using.  All I had to do was stay back and watch the fun.

I wish the photos of that last test had turned out better, but hopefully this one will work out better.  At least everything is all primed, based and even partially painted!!!

Another Vestal joins the squad...

Another gal from Raging Heroes!  Just one more to go and that squad is complete!

I am hoping that the shard net is helpful.  It was the first time we tested it out.  Obviously, a bigger squad with a couple of shard nets would be ideal, but there was not enough points for something like that.

So, back to the Dark Eldar!

Work in Progress: painting the Chronos Pain Engine

Here we have the Pain Engine about 40% finished.  Lots more to do... glazing, shading, bloody stuff, freehand, etc.  But, you can see it starting to take shape!

You will also notice the similarities to the Grotesques.  I am using a lot of the same techniques and colors on this guy as I did on them.  The darker shades that are yet to come will make quite a difference in this piece, as will the glowing orange freehand that I have done on the other figures.

My hope was to have a marine with cracking energy pulsing through him to represent the Spirit Siphon, but I will be leaving that until later, if there is any time for it.  This will probably be the case for  most of these story elements.

Part of the reason I wanted that particular extra on this figure was to remind me of the gear this guy has, and what his purpose was intended to be.  He is supposed to be handing out paint tokens like candy at a parade.

I suppose if I were smarter, I would have loaded up on these, and not done the Razorwing, etc.  However, the Razor has some very crucial freehand on it in terms of army storytelling.

When this figure is completed, I will post the images... so stay tuned!
