Salamanders and skirmishing movement trays

A while back I posted an image of the terradon and chameleon skink movement trays. The trays for the salamanders were the most complex, since you are dealing with vastly different sized bases. Formation is even more crucial, as you don't want the salamanders to be in a position where they can't shoot!

I had to experiment a lot with these units. I suppose it is not really necessary to have these, but it truly did make them a lot easer to mover around during games.

Krell, Lord of Undeath

Here was a fun miniature, which I used as a color laboratory to try out some new paints I just aquired.  I wanted him to have a slightly ethereal look to him.  A bit 'glowy' but also coporeal.

Skink blowpipe unit

Skink are probably my favorite things to paint.  They have a smooth enough surface to allow for some nice markings, and a fair amount of detail for something so small.  I love painting units in various colors, always experimenting.

Lizardmen Temple guard conversions: work in progress images

Continuing with the WIP images, I processed these pictures that show the initial sculpting done to convert regular plastic saurus (which I never use), into handy Temple Guard.

Here is an image of the unit as it stands right now, at roughly 40% complete in terms of painting.









Here is what they looked like when I first began converting them.  I used brown stuff to sculpt the skull helms.



These images profile the two temple guard conversions shown in a earlier post.  These minis are in the "Shaded basecoat" stage that I refer to so often.  From this point, many darker glazes are applied to create shading and tinting.
