Last but certainly not least! The Storm Raven images
Here is a piece that I painted last year. I have been saving it for quite a while for just the right time to post on the blog!
Calling all loyal Wappellians..you can vote on it here:

Let's get to all the pictures!
Some shots of the cockpit before the rest of the vehicle was painted...
I magnetized the weapons on the dorsal turret, which was very handy for game playing purposes...
This was almost the most difficult part of the entire vehicle to paint! All that yellow, so much going on! Yikes.
Here are a few WIP images:
A blast from the past... a Celtos Modron diorama
OK! One more diorama from the 2004-2005 era of dioramas. I have mentioned Celtos many times, and you have seen a few dioramas involving that line of miniatures.
This one was relatively simple, but it would be a very neat piece for the Slaine role playing game! That is what I have been saving all my Celtos figures for ... some day I will get to GM that system :-)
The tree was made in the same way as the big tree in the Elven Sentry Post.
I wanted to keep this one simple, so I did not attach vegetation to it.
Here is a shot of the miniature itself:

A Kickstarter project by Eastern Front Studios--- great concept art
Well, when I was approached by Eastern Front Studios about painting some miniatures for their Kickstarter program, I was not sure how it would all work. Looking at the images that I was shown... some fantastic concept art by the very talented Andy Hopp, I was immediately persuaded to say "Yes, I want to paint those!!"
Who wouldn't? Look at these amazing ideas. To me, they are completely unique. Hard to say in this day and age. :-)
I cannot tell you which ones might be made right off the bat, but I have tried to set up these pictures according to the increasing levels of support.
These are going to be sculpted by Jason Wiebe, who has done so many great sculpts for Reaper. I know that Cathy and I have painted many figures sculpted by Jason.
Obviously, more details are forthcoming. This is more of an introduction. I believe that early 2013 is the time frame for this project. All of the painting that I do will be featured on the blog, as I prep them and paint them. I think it will be a very fun journey!!!
Should things go well with the Kickstarter, you could ultimately be seeing such whimsical and different gribblies like these!!
Converted Vostroyan Astropath
OK, one more for the command squad! This time it's the Astropath.
I was able to give the flow improver an even bigger test here, and it worked like a charm on all the freehand. That was great, since there seemed to be no end to all the scrolls and seals! :-)
Here is a picture set of the conversion itself:
Don't lose your head...Vostroyan Commissar
Here is the next Command Squad member. I had always been fascinated with the Vostroyan figures, wondering what they would be like to paint. These have lived up to expectations, despite the relative age of the sculpts.
The WIP images of this can be seen in a post from yesterday...
The flow improver was very helpful once again. Surprisingly, it was very helpful in rough textured areas such as the hat.

Don't forget the sneaky snakes...
Finally! The last Stalker for the unit.
Sculpting this one was far different than his buddies, of course, since he was not wrapped around the pillar! It was a whole lot easier to deal with! It will also be far easier to paint.
Here he is with the rest of the unit...
I'll put up the photos as soon as he is painted! Stay tuned... hey, what's that rustling noise...
